Co-product market in Poland
Development of value in the co-product market was still in its infancy in 2017 when Duynie Poland started. Collection was mostly organized by logistics companies, clearing co-products at the factories, but without focus on creating value from co-products. Duynie started to transform the market by promoting the importance of co-product value. Co-products have a high intrinsic value and contain high-quality nutrients, which makes them a perfect nutritional choice to include in many livestock rations.
The approach of generating value from co-products and building up a position as European market leader in the co-product supply is why a major Starches & Sweeteners producer started doing business with Duynie in Poland in 2018. Duynie collects the liquid co-products from the Starches & Sweeteners factory and supplies them to local farmers.
Reducing emissions
In addition to the value increase of co-products, there are many environmental benefits which will be realized. In order to significantly reduce emissions, it is important to look at processes where a relatively large amount of fossil fuel is used. By switching off dryers, Duynie helps starch, sweeteners and ethanol producers to reduce energy use significantly both on-site and in the value chain, as required by new regulations for dealing with Scope 1 to 4 emissions.
Converting wet co-products into animal feed results in a lower carbon footprint than most alternative animal feed. This approach provides benefits for all involved as the entire food chain is becoming more sustainable. The result is dairy and meat products with a significantly lower carbon footprint.
Optimal logistics, nutritional expertise and service across Europe
Duynie has steadily expanded its presence across Europe. We understand the scale of the grain industry and can scale up our operations at factories in new countries. Starting with consultancy to every aspect of logistics, sales and operational support.
Duynie offers farmers a vast range of services to support their business. This includes nutritional advice, silo service and storage advice. For example, Duynie is placing high-quality silos at local farms for storing liquid co-products and ensuring that nutritional values remain consistent.
